RASHFORD KEEN ON PLAYING OUT WIDE

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is keen on playing in the wide role for the club. The 22-year old used to lead the attack for the Red Devils but says he feels the wide role is where he is best suited.

The England international broke through the ranks at Old Trafford in 2016 under former manager Louis van Gaal. Since his breakout for the club in the Europa League and the impressive way he started in the Premier League, he was rotated in wide positions and in the striker role. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Anthony Martial has been the No. 9 while Rashford has operated from the left wing. He was having a bang season, netting 19 goals before injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.

FANS ACCUSE ALLI OF NOT FULFILLING POTENTIAL

Tottenham Hotspur drew against Southampton to set up a replay of the FA Cup fourth round and the fans didn’t waste time, via angry tweets, to remind Dele Alli of how much he has stalled since breaking out onto the scene from MK Dons.

However, Marcus Rashford believes making places in the Champions League is not out of consideration for Manchester United. He feels that once the team plays on the field with full flow, it will be difficult to stop. Rashford stated that it will be pretty difficult to get to the top 4 but it is not impossible. He says that they do not have to focus on other teams; they play their best football when they focus on themselves and their own improvement and they should get back to doing that. That is very simple but at the same time, they should not make it complicated for themselves.

CAN RASHFORD LEAD UNITED TO GLORY?

This season is a special one for Marcus Rashford as he is the undisputed first-choice forward for Manchester United. This is a surprising turn of events as a year ago Lukaku had just returned from a strong World Cup and Rashford was destined for another season on the bench.

However, the sacking of Mourinho last October and arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given the 22-year-old a new lease of life at the club. Solskjaer has always maintained his belief in the England forward and Rashford has to repay the favour this season.

OLE SUPPORTS DE GEA

Despite the fact that David de Gea has been nowhere close to his best in the recent months, Ole seems to be throwing his weight behind his first choice shot stopper who has overall been a great servant for United in his 8-year long stint so far.

De Gea has faltered between the sticks quite a few times in the ongoing season, but none of his mistakes would have hurt the Red Devils as much as the last night’s mistake which he committed in an extremely vital Premiership fixture against Chelsea.

United started that game at no. 6 in the table, but a victory could have seen them climb a position up to no. 5 and getting leveled with the Blues on points who are at no. 4. And United with a lead early in the game seemed to be well on track to get the job done.
